Keep it real

Be straight with your clients and up front. Tell one lie and you will need to tell 7 more.
You get my message. Also keep to your numbers do not operate at a loss. If not cost effective walk away. Being professional means being able to say a project is not for you. What I would suggest is to give it thought, how would you imagine a conversation going where your gut Is saying no and your numbers don't add up. Keep it real with your clients but first of all keep it real with yourself.

School Mural on Brick Wall.

P162

Working this mural has proven challenging. Transferring the image because of it's size may have been best with a pounce. Though registration may have been difficult with the brick surface. I was , Almost sure it was going to be.
Well had to resort to the good old tried and true method of gridding. It does take longer much longer especially when you have alot of details. Today after drawing all day I came to the genius conclusion of going straight into the Mural directly with paint no more drawing with chalk. Tomorrow popping the paint cans
Open and Bring life to the surface.

House painter try's to pic a fight via his blackberry because I called him on his prep work. In an email I offer to assist him and I get a nasty email in return. I guess he did not appreciate my calling him out on the bad prep work. A painter should possess the quality of knowing what has to be done.. I did not respond ... I did email the Designer, not to complain about her painter but to assure her that I will do my part and make it wright. She offered to pick up any additional coasts at her expense.
Check your walls well if others do your prep work.... give the Designers a spec sheet of instructions for the painter for your specific techniques......Hold up the job if the walls are not up to par. "You are a professional the day you learn to say no"
